Default Track time diff with 4.10 vs stock

So last month I did a gob of visual updates. This month I'm going to put anther 2k in the car and I'm going to do perfrmance mods. I'm thinking mgw shifter, 4.10 gears, breenspeed tune, sct tuner, and the c&l racer intake. Last month I put new wheels with nitto 555s all around 285 in the back.

I'm wondering is that is enough tire to hook with 4.10 gears. I'm also wondering what real world performance gains the 4.10 gears give. Anyone have some stock 5spd gt times with stock gears and then time with gears? What do u guys think?

So much depends on your launch and the track and da, but I did notice that my overall average went down a tenth with the 4.10 gear.

4.10 was my first mod - a tenth
bama tune/c&l racer - 2 tenths

Different folks may tell you otherwise - just my experience this past year.

Yeah I know it will vary, just wondering what sort of real world results had been seen. Thanks for chiming in.

Well if you can grip like said before you can run .1 to .3 anywhere in between. My first run with 4.10's was only in the 1/8th. I tried looking it up and my 1/8 mile time is close to a 13.0 and my previous best with 3.31 was 13.3, I didnt even powershift with the 4.10's cause I knew I was going to just spin like crazy. Just some precise smooth shifting. Also I cut a 1.9 60 foot with the 4.10's on my second pass. Not too bad for stock tires and just getting the feel for the new gears.

take a look at the nitto invo tires, I was just reading up on the tech specs and they have a higher perf. rating than the nt555's (btw I have nt555s and they grip pretty well) give the invos an idea.

Yeah I wanted Invo's but American Muscle didn't carry them and i wanted the tires mounted and balanced. i am thinking about buying second pair of rears 10-inch gt4 wheels for my car with 555r's on them though if traction is an issue. it doens't get very cold in my part of Texas so I plan to run the summer compound tires year round. Prolyl lose some grip i am sure, but no one runs winter tires here.

I shaved ~0.5 off my eighth mile time. I'm an automatic. I was running 9.3 and my best time after the 4.10's is 8.77.

So freaking sick. 4.10's in combination with cai/tune is epic.

another thing about 4.10's with an auto, I think they would actually be better for trans, autos like more RPM as the front pump turns faster, providing more fluid to the trans
