This article leads me to believe Ford put the 2 piece shaft in the Mustang due to critical speed issues. At least that is what I get from it.

Interesting.....

Anyone running these on lowered Mustangs? I have read that if your have a lowered car than you need a 3.5 inch or it will hit the floor pan. Is this correct. If so, it seems that if you have three people in the car it would hit with the 4 inch also.

Anyone have a 4 inch on a lowered car? or what about with 3+ people on a stock car?

shaftmasters told me the 4" would be fine with sport springs, but with prokit or lower you might want 3.5" to be safe

Is the shaftmasters DS as good as a spydershaft? 500 sounds a bit more reasonable then 700$

I have read various information on this. Some say 4 inch okay, others say you have to go 3.5 inch to avoid issues with rubbing...... Not sure what is correct.

I read (of course from the makers of the 3.5 shafts) that the 4 inch shaft will touch if you have 4 people in the car or if it is lowered.

Anyone have any direct experience with the 4 inch shaft on a lowered S197 or with 3+ people in the car?

Onedurful100 - That 2 piece $1200 shaft is just nuts!

I have the 4" with lowered 1 ". I only allow one adult and child besides me. Ive never had a problem with rubbing, i just stay on the safe side. I would never allow a car load of adults cause that would no doubt cause problems.
