Default Problems with COPS

I had a stock ignition coil go bad. I bought the MSD ones a while back and one of them went bad. What's the deal! Is this a common problem for some reason?

The stock COPS are pretty reliable overall. I've heard of more failures associated with aftermarket than with OE COPS.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Maybe someday I'll buy the weapon x coil on plugs. But for now I'll just keep swapping lol

I got the weapon X ones, and I love them! Is it the same coil by chance (like the same physical location) Only reason I ask is it seems odd that you have had 2 go bad already. Espicialy as MSD us generaly considered very reliable. No warranty from them?

What happened to tell you that a COP went bad? Just curious.

I have what looks like fairly minor spark blowout (short spikes of power loss at high rpm, wavy A/F). Just recently bought some OEM COP's and need to install them.

I bought the MSD ones when they first came out, so they are not under warranty. No, the first time one went bad it was cylinder 5. This time it was cylinder 4. My car would randomly act like it was running on 7 cylinders and my A/F ratio would go screwy. Then it would clear up again. It finally threw a p0354 and p0355 code.

Also heard of aftermarket ones going bad so I stuck with the stock ones.
