Default Draining Washer fluid

I took my 2006 GT to the service station on Saturday to have the oil/filter changed. I supplied the oil - Mobil 1 5w-20.

They also topped up my fluids, including windshield washing fluid.

Today, I used it (wiper fluid) and it made a mess on my windshield - also seemed to clog the wiper fluid nozzles.

Not sure what is going on here. I do know I need new wipers (they are 3 years old)

Could this problem be caused by the fluid they used? If so, how do I drain it and replace with something approved by Ford?

I am getting new wipers tomorrow but am concerned about any problems with the wiper fluid.

Any suggestions or has anyone had this issue? Am I crazy?????

Thanks as always!

Use a siphon to empty the reservoir.

Did they put anti-freeze in your washer fluid?
Like Art161 said a siphon would be the easiest because it looks like the washer reservior has to be removed from the bottom of the car. Flush the lines with a mixture of water and car wash soap?

I know this doesn't help, but next time, do your own oil change and top off your own fluids. More mod money to boot.

+1 Billion

Sounds like the idiot put anti freeze in your windshield fluid res. Do you really want the same idiot changing your oil?

It's blue...

I find it hard to believe anyone would put in anti-freeze instead of washer fluid but I guess anything is possible...

They change my oil because I live in a townhouse and the association does not allow me to do it - plus they have always done a good job and don't mind if I wait and watch. This time I left the car though...

Thanks for all the help!

I would take it back to them and make them fix it!

UPDATE
Took it back this morning. Got new wiper blades installed.

Showed the mechanic the problem. He agreed the washer fluid "did not seem right". Also, it left residue out the front/side of the nozzle that leaked out onto the hood - this was just really not right!

He flushed/siphoned out the wiper fluid tank and "cleaned" the nozzles. Meanwhile, the guy who actually "topped it off" showed me what he used. It was full concentrate washer fluid that needed to be diluted - I think he put it in full strength...

btw - Now the nozzles spray really hard and over onto my roof/top... after the cleaning...

After the flush - I told them I would just go home, wash my car (as this stuff was now all over the front and sides of the car and the vinyl convertible top) and just buy some washer fluid at Autozone, thank you very much.

My question now is: can I adjust the nozzles so they spray lower?

Also - can this stuff damage the paint, trim or vinyl convertible top?

I am seriously considering taking it to the Ford dealer - even though my warranty is up - and having them take a go... as much as I hate to.

Any suggestions - especially on adjusting the nozzles to spray lower?

Lessons learned....

Thanks!
