Default V6 Vs GT Brakes*

Hey guys im changing my brakes very soon..I called NewTakeOff.com and they said the GT Rotors wont fit in the V6 calibers,is this true? i thought the calibers are as the same as the v6 calibers? Someone clear this up for me..Also where else can i get good brake pads? NewTakeOff dont sell them as a set you have to buy the calibers aswell..

The calipers aren't the issue, it's the mounting brackets that hold the calipers that are different. It's Ford part Number 6R3Z-2B134-B (need right and left side) There are some upgrade kits available that include this mounting bracket.
The V6 brake pads and Calipers and rear rotors are the same on the GT. The front rotors are larger on the GT and the brakes mount a little higher.

i have ceramic pads and they hiss or screech i would advise against those unless you want to get drilled rotors.i hate them

well i have the gt front calipers and rotors and they made a noticeable difference in braking as well as appearance. so i would say just buy the complete package unless you plan on getting aftermarket rotors/ calipers in the $1000 range

One more thing to the O/P. If you go with GT brackets and Rotors, you MUST have 17" or larger wheels. The Stock 16"s will not clear the relocated brackets. {{EDIT}} Just noticed you have 20"s, you'll be fine {{EDIT}}

I found the kit that I should have got:

Take off rotors and brackets. Reuse your current calipers and get some Hawk pads and you'll be in great shape.

I bought the rotors from NTO.com and the brackets from my local dealer. I think the brackets were $40 each!

The GT front brakes are an excellent upgrade. I bought new take offs from a GT off Ebay last year for $50 including shipping (rotors, pads, calipers & brackets).

The calipers are the same so I didn't change them. Now I have a spare set.
