Default Build sheet questions

My build sheet from Ford came in the mail today. I'm glad I requested it, because it raised some questions regarding exterior paint and interior schemes.

1.) I thought my car was Vapor Silver Metallic, with paint code ZY. Here, it's listed as Vapor Silver Pearl, code PN-3JE. I've NEVER seen this paint code before. Is this some kind of freak? The dealership didn't even know what color it really was and just called it "grey". True, in certain lighting it can either look silver, grey, and even whitish.

2.) The interior is listed as "interior upgrade package", but then across the page it says "cloth interior trim scheme". Upgraded from what? It's the bare bones base model cloth package as far as I can tell.

Here's a pic of my interior and dash:

I really can't answer your questions, but I have one for you. I have looked everywhere in the car for my build sheet and cannot find it. How did you get one from Ford?

Thanks,

Thanks,
You won't find it in the car; you have to request it from Ford. Send an email with your name and VIN number to crcfmc@ford.com. That's their research division. They'll email you asking to provide more info, then they'll mail a build sheet to you. I got mine out of pure curiosity.

Thanks,
I found my build sheet that was in my 2007 Pony Package. It was behind the glove box. I've also got the window sticker, special order sheet, dealer invoice, and what I think the poster is referring to, the "original specification and optional equipment" letter from Ford.

Anyway, here is what I call the Build Sheet

The letter I got was a bulleted list breaking down the VIN code, where it was built, date of assembly, and a list of original options and stuff. Build sheet, original specification letter, whatever its called, I found it to be pretty interesting.

A more legible version of my Build Sheet can be seen here

The use of Build Sheets go way back. Here is a link to a well dissected 1978 Trans Am Build Sheet

BTW, all this documentation means a lot to me. My Pony is a well preserved garage queen. She has 701 miles and will be 3 years old January 16, 2010.
