Need some info real quick.
Need to know the technical term and specifications for the display module on out mustangs(the one the tells us mileage and warnings and such)
Need to know what is involved in swapping the stock on out for one that is the same style but lights up red, or if a different style.

It runs on a CanBuss.
It needs to be Ford or it no worky.
The 'module' must be 'configured' by the dealer.
The mileage is stored in the PCM.

What ya want to do again (more detail).

Its called my color. I just happen to have one if you want to buy one. It is all wrote up in the manuel in your glove box. Up to 125 different colors and give all kinds of info about your car even the gas milage your getting and what gas milage your driving at this time. It took me about an hour but I had to do some extra wiring. My 05 did not come with the wiring harness that you need to access the colors and all. There is a blank for the switch on your dash next to the air bag switch above your radio. You need to pop it out and check and see if it is there. If not you will need a few more pointers. All the info you need can be found by searching the net with words, my color. Hope this helps, I think this is the best upgrade you cand do to your mustang and so does Ford It is still offered on th 2010 but only as an extra.

Just making sure, what model mustang do you have? If you have GT premium, it should come installed already, just takes a little reading in the manual to get it down and how to work the settings. If you don't, it's pretty cool feature. I customized my own color

Yeah, but the message center display stays green even if you change the mycolor option so the backlight is another color. The color for the message center is due to a tint on the overlay (in a stock cluster). A write-up on how to change the color of the message center was posted here...https://mustangforums.com/forum/s197...ml#post6563402
Hope this helps.
