Is it true you can't order a new '05 from the factory any more, that it will have to be an '06 and the wait at least until October? Just making sure, dealers aren't to be trusted.

 

Very, Very True! I believe the last day you could "order" one was June 24th.

Production starts on the 06 Aug 8

 

Yup its true and you will now have to scramble and find a dealer that might have any on his lot! I check this website alot to see if my local dealers have Mustangs period! Its how I found a mustang to test drive!

That is true, '05 Stangs are done. And the wait will be at least that long, with Ford probably having to rollover some late '05 orders with all the early '06 orders already placed. If your order isnt in by now I'd say it would be more like November. I placed my order in May and may not even get it for Sept! Best bet is to find a dealer with a lot of allocations left and not a long line waiting for '06's.

 

I kept checking that site all the time and couldn't find any. So I went to the dealer web sites and found my first GT on there. The Ford Vehicles web site list only the cars that the dealer orders for inventory and not for retail customer sales such as ordered cars from the customers. If a customer backs out of an order, it will never hit the Ford Vehicles web site. That is what happened when I bought my first GT. A customer ordered it and backed out of the deal, so I picked it up. Another thing to do is to call the dealers that you know directly and see if they have any coming in that a customer may have backed out from.

Nobody knows about the collector item stuff yet. It is way too early to know that. The MyColor option will be available with the IUP. That is the only way to get it now from the factory.

 

Mine will be. Cause I'm gonna collect it until it either get's totalled or it can no longer be repaired.
Heck, I haven't gotten the courage to part with it for a day to fix a couple of small dents and scratches -
not to mention having the bra put on or the sunroof or the fancy mirror or ....

When I get behind the wheel.. I forget all about them. And when I think of having to drive something else
for a day (or more!)... I .

If I have 2 05 GT's, do I classify as a collector? If they do become a collector car, I have 2 of them.

 

If they are collectible and you have two of them, doesn't that make them worth half as much?
