Default Quick Alarm/security question

Does anyone know if there is a timer for the factory alarm? (i.e will the alarm automatically shut off after 10 min if activated).

Once you arm it, it stays on.
One day I had my windows down with the alarm set. After about 20 minutes, my daughter reached inside to grab her books.....alarm went off.

I believe the OP wants to know if the alarm is activated, will it go off in a set period of time or will it keep blaring? I believe everyone know that an alarm is set indefinitely once you set it

Topbliss you're 100% correct.

I'm referring to once the alarm starts going off, will it time out or just continue to blare until the battery is dead

Read the Owners Manual.
It times out and resets after bout 5 minutes.
And bypasses the violated zone.
Simple to find out....
Activate it and see when it times out.

Don't forget about how long it would take for a neighbor to get ticked enough to break a window, pop the hood, and disconnect battery :-D

Wanted to test the motion sensors inside. Sat in the driver seat, locked the doors with the fob, waited and counted 20 seconds to arm.. waved my hand in front of the sensor, nothing, stopped, then all of a sudden it goes off. Scared the crap out of me and nearly launched myself off the seat lol.

I'm having an issue today with the alarm going off for no reason. I don't have a motion sensor in the factory alarm, but I put the cover on the car and locked it with the remote, and now it has gone off 3 times this evening, about every 45 minutes...
I had to grab the remote to turn it off and reset it back on, and then it goes off again. I ended up going downstairs, and locking it manually just now. Will see what happens.

I also had an issue with the remote not working at all. It wouldn't open my trunk or unlock the car when I was leaving a store. But hours later when I got to another store it worked like normal.

oh, also, I noticed a flashing red light down under the glove box when I was getting out the car cover. Will try to get a photo of that. I never noticed that before....but I had set the alarm BEFORE putting on the cover, which I never do.

UPDATE:
I think I might have found a cause- I had left one of the overhead interior lights on and just noticed it now when I went to take the photos. Shut it off and locked the car with the remote. The lock was flashing in the gauge cluster as usual.
Here's the pics:
