quick 2010 review
Traded my 2007 for the 2010 GT last night, then immediately drove on a 400 mile trip. I have a couple of questions:
1) Whats all this "piping the exhaust sound into the cabin" stuff? From what I hear, sounds really no different.
2) book says made for 87 octane--but use 91 for best possible performance, My question--does 87 give the worst possible performance? And if I use 89, will I get better performance that 87?
3) I see the intake says "cold air intake". How does it differ from the 07 stock? Does this mean I could get a tune without having to pay for an intake, and realize improvement?
I really like this car--runs very smooth on the road, the clutch feel is really nice--lighter than my 07 and smoother. Good job Ford.

Ok take it from a guy that has asked all the questions, had them answered and replaced the stock Cold Air with a JLT, got a 87 tune, replaced the exhaust at the axles, removed the sound tube and so on, experimented with gas...here it is...
07 is not a cold, more a ram air, as I was explained, now the stock Cold Air on 2010 from what my guy at the shop who dyno'd and tuned my car with a 87 tune and myself realized...with a K&N drop in filter, it is so close to the JLT, except for look, I wasted 400 $, it is a good system and is true cold air, come right in by driver head light. As for sound tube, if you ever have your car Dyno'd stand behind it, your stock exhaust is quiter than you think when sitting in car, it was so quite I was shocked, the sound in car was twice as much, if you reach

Reason I traded
Smoke,
The simplest way to explain--I am on an IRS Tax Saver plan at work--I get to choose my vehicle, I buy it, company reimburses 85% of cost of owning and operating it. None is considered taxable. Only thing is we have to trade every 4 years. I had 1 year left, 153.800 miles on the 07. I was just waiting for 0% financing, and Ford had it. I loved the 07, figured I will love the 10. does this explain it?

I believe if you remove the baffling it will be louder. The new cabin is supposed to be quieter, which is a good thing if you're a highway driver and do lots of miles.
Stick to 87 octane for better cash flow!
The new stock cold air intake is indeed good enough that spending a bunch of $$$ on a CAI in a 2010+ won't really get you the boost it used to. I haven't heard about any tunes being made that are for the new stock intake. If they come out with one I imagine it would give you a bit of a boost over the stock tune.
