Default hotrod cams 1/4 mi times before and after

they sound great and more hp, but some 1/4 mi times before and after would be nice. if its gonna sound like a drag car, it better run like one.

No loss from what I can tell. If there is, I can't feel it.

To me, I feel significant gains from off-idle to redline. The stock 3.31 gears are no problem with these. I also have not experienced any MPG drop. Some have for some reason. But about a week ago, I was getting 25.5 MPG at 80 mph @ ~2500 rpm. Not bad.

The gain is supposed to be around 30hp w/ longtubes and CAI. I would expect my gains to be that or at least pretty darn close by how it feels.

They're great cams. I love mine. But if you have an auto, be prepared for flashing O/D light issues which I believe is vacuum related. However, it is fixable in the tune. I have made many posts about this so if you want more details on that, search my posts.

CAI = $300, Cams = $800, Longtubes = $300

$1400 / 30 hp = $46.67 / hp

Ouch!

This will be a long, but hopefully informative post...

No, you will see 30hp gain if you ALREADY have those mods.

To me (I lack LT's) the gains were not that great. Partly due to my dyno reads low for sure(I put 320 down on another dyno).

This was before/after cams. Only problem was is I also installed CMCV delete plates and high flow cats at the same time. So cams in my case were only worth maybe 15-18whp. Note: slight loss of low end power, but it was not detectable in the butt dyno

This is stock vs recent

Sure you might be saying thats not much of a gain. But I would LOSE 10hp to have my car sound like it does lol. Below is a video if my car. First idle is set to 620, second section is set to 750

1/4 mile times? Well its not a perfect apples to apples comparison but this is the best I got. Under similar weather conditions, similar drag radials, and similar 60's

Pre Cam =
60 Foot Time: 1.853
330 Foot Time: 5.497
1/8 Mile Time: 8.450 @ 83.65
1000 Foot Time: 10.994
1/4 Mile Time: 13.133 @ 105.76

After cam/deletes/highflow cats + slightly better driver mod=
Reaction Time: 0.358
60 Foot Time: 1.886
330 Foot Time: 5.367
1/8 Mile: 8.222 @ 86.40
1000 Foot Time: 10.686
1/4 Mile Time: 12.768 @ 108.25

My total cost was 950 bucks. That included the cams, the install of cams, install of new spark plugs, and powdercoating of my valve covers...

So, I had them installed for maybe 150? That is very cheap as I have a good friend install them (mustang fanatic)

With 4.10's, the small amount of TQ loss is 100% undetectable. The cams are still perfectly drivable...
