I'm a little new to the whole tuner deal so forgive these questions for being basic. I talked on the phone with Brenspeed this morning after ordering a tuner online. I answered a couple of basic questions concerning modifications, PCM code, etc. I wasn't asked about tire size, wheel size, etc. Do they need to know this kind of stuff? Also, I have switched out my stock plugs for the one piece Champions. Does this matter? Thanks in advance!

I have a Brenspeed tune and btw its awesome, they just need this basic information, kind of model and engine size, auto or manual, processor code, any mods your have which includes gears and CAI ( cold air intake ) ect and what kind of tunes you want with the octane in your area 87 / 89 / 91 or 93 octane, I got a 87 performance tune, 89 performance tune and a 91 race tune which is what I am using now and its really great, awesome throttle response, firm hard shifts and back in the seat fast, you wont even know its the same car, good luck and have fun !

 

You can call them back and indicate tire size to see if they need it to adjust your speedo. However I don't think that would be the case.

 

They usually do ask about tires and gears. They only need tire size and not wheel size since the parameter that's affected is the tire's revs per mile which is a function of the tire and not the wheel. However, even if they have the wrong info, those parameters are easily user adjustable with the handheld.
