Default New Battery

Battery just died this weekend and its time to get a new one. Was thinking Optima and was wondering what type of batteries you guys are getting (Red top or Yellow top). I just use the car on weekends and mods are in my sig. I do have an aftermarket stereo and running a few extra gauges.

Unless you're cranking some serious accessory power, the Optima is overkill and overpriced but still a damn good battery.

My first choice would be Interstate followed by Diehard.

+1 on the overkill but its always better to have too much than not enough.

the yellow top is for if you have a really big load on it and might be draining it

the red top is for providing max starting power

Just got a diehard gold yesterday. Interstate shop was closed for the day and i didn't want to wait. Iv run diehards on other cars in the past and they have well exceeded their life expectancy.

I just replaced mine. If the strap that secures it down doesn't fit, you can remove the two wedges in the bottom of the tray on the left and right side. It will make the new battery fit lower in the tray and the strap will then screw in again.
