The exhaust system will not change your smog test results. Unless they are testing for noise now in CA you should be fine.

If they are testing for noise now, well then I'm glad I moved out of CA. I always think about going back, but you CA guys make me think I'm better off.

If I recall, my Borla/FRPP Stingers were listed as street legal in 50 states and I'm sure that's related to noise. There isn't 1 set of axle or catbacks that'll change your emissions.

California has stricter limits than the rest of the country for exhaust noise.

The louder Borla (Stinger) is not legal in CA, they have a quiet one that is I believe, but I don't know how it sounds.

I had the Stinger and it was droning too much for my taste, so I switched to the Ford Racing FR500S/KR instead. Ford Racing claims it's 50 states, it's significantly louder than stock, sounds amazing, and does not drone at all.

That probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

You can put in a new cat-back exhaust, it just can't actually delete the cats. Switching out an H for an X is still perfectly legal. But yeah, go ahead and call Borla

The axle backs will pass. Unless you are going offroad with the midpipe it won't change. i also have an 06, mine's an auto. I hated the stingers with just the axlebacks. Way too much drone in the vert. They got much better after I went with an o'r h and intake/tune. I think you may not like the stingers as just an ab add on. Have you looked into the identical frpp stinger axlebacks?
