Default got cams!

I finally got my stage 1 comps nsr installed into my car. I'm super pleased. I know and can feel a greater than 25 hp gain. I know its not supercharged nor does it have that much power, but i'm super pleased with my car. Right now, i have jba/boost brothers long tubes, or/h, bassani exhaust, steeda udp, 95mm cai, 3.73, and a complete tune from noe's performance. After i got the cams installed, there was a major power difference. I don't care for the loping sound of the cams i want the power. I didnt want a cam that i had to wait to 4500rpms to feel the power either. I want to get an aluminum d/s and delete plates, are they worth the money??? Also, is there any exhaust i can use to get the raspiness out of the exhuast that i've seen with the 3v motors with o/r pipes??

sweet man congrats. and for exhaust ur gonna want a chamber muffler to get rid of raspy ness imo i have the mac set up and no raspy at all but you gotta use the right mid pipe with whatever muffler your gonna use cause that will make it raspy. most can type muffler will be raspy

with the retune and the cams i've lost like 3mpg but its worth it...without the cams and the longtubes and the custome tune, i ran with my buddi's 04 gto, that has longtubes and a cam. i couldnt go into overdrive at 120 which thats where he pulled me..but i cant wait to get ahold of that car again now since i've got like 50hp more since then

Did you get a dyno tune? I would really, really, really like to see your torque curve. Particularly below 3000rpm. I gave up ~50rwtq down low with my stage 2 cams, but I attribute a big chunk of that to the heads as well. You're already running 3.73s, so I would imagine you still have great drivability. The O/R exhaust may yield a better hp than what I'm getting, and while the cmdp's will open you up a little on top, you may loose more low end torque with the aftermarket cam than you would with a stock cam.

For anyone else that may be debating between a stage 1 and 2 cam, my torqe curve overtakes the stock torque curve at ~3200rpm (I'm talking torque because that is what you feel SOTP), and where the stock HP goes flat at ~5300, mine continues to climb to 6300. Lope? Just by listening to it, you wouldn't know it's a cammed car.

if you hear mine, you'd never guess there's aftermarket cams in it. i thought i'd lose some bottom end torque but i was wrong. i've thought bout putting cats back on it to get the bottom end torque back. but all in all..i can feel the cams pulling at 2500 and they pull really really hard at 3500. i would love to dyno my car but living in the hills of east tn they dyno numbers arent gonna be that good cuz of the altitude. we usually lose like 20 to 30 due to the mountains.

I live at 6200'....you don't have to tell me what a power robbing banshee elevation is, but no matter where you take it, you should get an SAE corrected dyno number that will essentially tell you what you would be making at sea level. Did you do the install yourself? Putting the cats back on will take care of the rasp you're hearing, but I don't know how much low end you would gain or how much top end you would loose. My car has to pass emmisions, so ditching the cats isn't really an option for me.

I'm on my third tank of gas since all the work in my sig and I was surpised to see I only lost about 3mpg, but I've been driving more aggressively. IMO 3mpg for 50hp and endless smile is a fair trade.
