X-Plan How do you get a number
I've been reading about the xplan and see lots of controversy over it. Seems that some dealers take it and some don't.
Questions: Do you have to have a family member or friend that works for Ford? Does a dealership count? Can you just go to service or sales and say, Hey there, wanna be my friend so I can get xplan pricing?
So, this may sound stupid but I see lots of people that have bought/ordered under xplan. Do they all really have family working for Ford?
And before any scammers offer...NO, I will not PAY you for the xplan number, code or whatever-the-heck it is. Saw some guy on another forum offer to do that for $500. Don't know if he was serious, but I hope he was just kiddin.

My hubby's employer had the x-plan for the employees because they buy alot of ford vehicles for the company. We were able to use it with our dealer. He works for one of the largest electric utilities.
Only current Ford employees (A-plan) or retired Ford employees (Z-plan) can distribute X-plans. Dealer employees (D-plan) are unable to give away X-plans. So if you go to a dealer, the best they can do is give you one of their D-plans. You can try, but Ford is policing this issue much more over the past year because dealers have been taking advantage of the priviledge.
Ford gives the X-plan to businesses for the use of their employees. A lot of people that purchase vehicles from our dealership do not even know they work for an X-plan company when they come in. There are literally hundreds of companies who have the X-plan.

Aint that the truth! My step dad works for Panduit, they make the zip ties, lol. They have X plan. Maybe Ford buys zip ties from them, or Panduit buys alot of Ford cars.
I also heard Ford giving Xplan pins for dealers to give out to generate business. And PINS have been abused, but still easily used. And very easy to get.
My employer sells to Ford, thus employees are eligible for the supplier discount (S-Plan) On my first visit to my dealership the salesman noted that I was eligible for the supplier discount and provided a X-Plan price quote with no questions. I ordered on March 28th; sent to factory (serialized) June9th; build week scheduled July 21st; ETA at dealer August 10th. Just made it under the wire for a '05. Its been a loooooong wait and I live 60 miles from the plant.
