I had the same issue with my '05 once I saw the 2010. I would open my garage and say "Damn that '05 has a flat boring rear-end" So I had to upgrade to the 2010 with some booty.....

I look at the 05-09 rear end and say "yep, that sure is 60's inspired, back when cars looked worth a damn." I look at the 10/11 rear and say "yep, that sure is import inspired, wtf Ford?"

But, I do really like everything else and some mods can hide the goofy-ness of the 10/11 rear. I think the GT500 rear spoiler helps. Combine that with that lower part painted or partially painted and it's A LOT better. Tail light trim could possibly help if done right.

A while back, it was my parent's anniversary and we were coming back from eating that evening and a 2010 rolled by. They both said the rear looked horrible, like some kind of japanese import. LOL! They did agree with me that the rest of the car looks awesome but something really needs to be done to that rear. I honestly want to slap the designer at Ford for this.

ford keeps releasing these details right when they are going to drop a new platform i.e. 2011. This has to effect their sales in one way or another with people holding out.

I have a 2007 GT. I plan on considering the '12 IF I can get past the rear end. And even if I DO buy a '12, I'll definitely be eyeballing the '14s and '15s for the next toy. You only live once...

The rear end isnt worth not getting a great car, come on people. You can mod it and make it look good but I personally dont mind it as is. Though I will definitely be modding mine lol, cuz its fun and makes your stang unique.

i will definitely be looking at 16's or 18's.
by then i should be done with grad school and looking to buy a new car.

I love the direction that ford is going and will consider myself a full convert from a chevy man once they come out with their RWD sedan

I'd bet $100 that it'll have IRS.

The '05-'09 rear doesn't remind me of an old school muscle car, it reminds me of a Ford Fairmont.

If the new rear is "imported", "Asian", "Euro" then that's fine with me. Of course, you can tell by my sig where the majority of my mod money has gone so far LOL but even stock I think the new rear is a great improvement.

To each his own.

Exactly^ but I would have modded any rear end I had.
