Default Deep cat back exhaust

As most of you know youtube doesnt do justice to exhaust videos.

I am looking for a new exhaust set up. I absolutely love the deep sounding mufflers, I can deal with some drone but not too much and Im not looking for anything ear splitting loud. And there are a few systems that I'm curious about but I am on a budget.

I am currently running an o/r h pipe and putting the stock cats on are not an option.

Eventually I will put on an o/r h or x and some Long tube headers with a vortech s/c.

Also I want a CAT BACK not an axle back. I wish to replace my over the axle pipes.

So these are the sytems I am wondering about.

Option 1: Pypes Violator cat back

Option 2: Magnaflow street mufflers

Option 3: Magnaflow Magnapacks

Thanks guys!

why you want a catback?...more expensive and you gain nothing by replacing the overaxle pipes?

you wont want the borlas because of the drone/

pypes mid muffler is a good option i think really

I had the magnapack cat back system. Awesome sound, especially with the prochamber.

I've been listening to some magnaflow STREET muffler videos with O/R (or high flow catted) midpipes and it sounds very good. Deep but not crazy out of control with the sound.

I'm thinking of a new muffler for my setup. The boomtubes are great with stock exhaust, but with headers and high flow cats (or O/R) it's a bit too much at times and at WOT has this out-of-control "rattle-y" sound. It's like fast consecutive pops, almost machine gun like. It's hard to describe. But I can say it's not as good as it once was.

So I've been thinking Magnaflow street, GT500KR muffs, or Flowmaster AT CLASSIC. I just don't know. I think I'll slap the stock muffs on there to see what that's like and go from there. I have a video with stock mufflers, BBK O/R X and Hot Rod cams and it sounds killer. So maybe all I need is stock muffs back on with nice tips.

howarmat: I realize there is no gain from replacing these pipes but I have welded in m80s in my stock over axle pipes and I want to replace them.

Gman73: Did those magnapacks drone at all? And are they super loud?

SirknightTG: I am kinda liking the sound of those magnaflows myself. That is what I am leaning towards, They sound good but not crazy loud and probably would sound killer with LT's

Good luck finding a deep muffler on a 3 valve that doesn't drone. If you want deep? Go with an o/r h and stingers. A little drone and trumpets.

The magnapacks did drone a little but it was tolerable. The flow 40s droned more than the maggies. With the prochamber and hi-flows they are fairly loud. It will set off car alarms in both parking garages and parking lots. Now my new set-up: SLP LM with prochambers is loud but not obnoxious.

Does nobody vote violators? Are they out of control loud?
And the reason I don't have the stinger cat back listed is because of the price tag on it.

Out of your 3 picks, I'd choose the magnapacks.
