When Changing Wheels for the 1st time....
I was told by the shop I bought my wheels from that when I change them
there will be some excess metal or something on the wheel studs from the original ford assembly line, and that I should remove them.
It's still a few weeks until I swap wheels out, but what exactly is this and what should I expect to see?

Look for and remove these. There may be none on a wheel or there may be one or two. They're used on the assembly line and have no function after assembly. They prevent aftermarket wheels from sitting flush against the rotor.

They're little tabs on the studs that kept the brake rotor from saggin/falling off during assembly on the line. Stock rims are made to fit flush with no issues with them on but most if not all aftermarket wheels are not designed to keep them on there. And if you've had any break work done, they're prob gone anyhow.
