Default Top Speed Help!

Hey guys, been watching some vids on the youtube, and see some good races between people at the dragstrips with Mustang vs. camaro scenario and was curious seems like the maros are having a hard time getting away from the stangs up till around 115 then I see the big advantage of the camaro at top end speed, what are some things that increase your top end speed? Just curious whats the mods that will help when it come to top speed?

I have had my Stang up to 140 MPH and it didn't take long to get there.

BUT - The Chev has more cubes and more power and that will show up big time in how fast you get to top speed. Cubes are much more able to push through all of that air resistance.

To help the Stang keep up on the upper end, a supercharger will help a LOT.

the difference in horse power doesnt make much difference down low as they are both relitivly light. The difference comes at speed, more air resistance, and its just physics that its easier to get somthing to 60 from 0 than 60 to 120.

anything that helps the engine breath better in the top end, exhaust, headers, intake, boring out the engine... All of that will help you in the top end... You want to focus more on HP instead of torque

finance a SC?

I didn't realize they did that. No way I would finance that. To me a SC is one of those things that if you dont have the cash to buy one out right you prob shouldn't buy one at all.

But that is just me.

I guess if you really wanted to, a Credit card with a high limit and low interest would do just as well...

what type of gearing would you want to go with if you focused on top speed? I can't imagine you would go anywhere near a 4.10. Would you just leave it stock?

you need to increase your HP and reduce your mass. making things more aerodynamic also help. i think you need to increase the numbers exponentially to really get anywhere, there was a top gear episode where they discussed this

thats why cars like the veyron and the shelby aero twin turbo have over 1000hp.
