I'd go with Hurst. Look wise, they're the only one (imo) who make decent looking shift sticks (Or whatever that piece is called).

I've heard NOTHING but great things about MGW, but I just don't like the way it looks (I know, sounds dumb :P )

Hurst and MGW are the most popular, from what I've seen anyways...

With the MGW you can specify a Hurst-spec thread pattern on the shifter arm so that you can use any of the Hurst-style shift *****. Thus, you have some options to customize the look with the MGW.

In my experience.....

Stock has long throws, but transfers very little transmission noise into the cabin.

Hurst rattles a lot, but looks great and has a really short throw.

Steeda/Pro5.0 is a beefy shifter with fairly long throws for a "short throw" shifter.

B&M retains stock look but has shorter throws than stock and is notchier than stock. I have a squeaking noise coming from mine when the transmission sways, and a couple of the washers on the linkage bolt were very cheap and split.

These are the only ones I've used.

I wasn't talking about the ****, I think it's the shifter arm I was trying to refer to (after reading your post)

Does MGW offer different styles, preferably(sp?) the Hurst-like style?

Hurst Billet Competition shifter for me. 209 bucks shipped from Summit. Nostalgic, classic and nice short firm throws. No vibrations, no rattle no missed gears, just perfect. Watch it in action at the end of my video below.

You would need to order the shifter with the shaft that is threaded for 3/8x16 threads. This will give you an aluminum "shifter handle mount shaft" and allow you to run a lot of different handles. I currently have the Hurst Competition shifter and its fine, rattles a little but no biggie, will be upgrading to MGW in the nearish future.

Here is a link of the installation with the 3/8x16 just to get an idea of what it looks like.
