Installing hood struts?

Installing hood struts?
I recently ordered a set of hood struts from American Muscle and was wondering what kind of issues are involved with installing hood struts on a 2009 Mustang GT? Can you remove the bolts on one hood hinge to install the strut bracket without the hood moving out of alignment? In other words will one hood hinge hold the hood in the correct position? I worry about closing the hood and crunching something because the hood has shifted. Any advice/comments would be welcome.

Good question as I need to order and install this mod myself too. Strong tradewinds at my track always want to knock my hood down when I have it up to cool the engine between runs.
Post up when you get it installed.

I would not let the hood rest on 1 hinge if you can help it. Ask a friend to hold the hood up or find a longer (than the prop rod) piece of wood to prop the hood open.
If you got the CDC hood struts, they utilize existing holes. The redline tuning struts require drilling and cutting of the washer line. I have the CDC struts, and they were an absolute piece of cake to install.
