Only thing I have heard of was the stronger input shaft. I too am worried about my factory trans if I added an sc and possible aluminator with higher boost.

Some people just aren't smart enough to realize that in some parts of the country there is such thing as traffic and most people don't like upshifting and down shifting every 5 seconds. Sounds like someone that would drive a civic since they believe every 5 speed in the world is faster than any auto anywhere.

Im in Sacramento .. but i commute to San Fransico ! Mornning traffic = GEY! Plus shrapnel in my left shin prevents me from driving ! And with my 1piece DS, 430's, 3000 stall and slicks most manuals have a tough time hanging with me anyway ! Im getting boosted as soon as I get back from deplyoment but i want to build up my tranny.. sus. is all done and brakes are in the garage... starting from bottom up !

I have a TCI 3000 stall in my auto for 2 years and running NOS with 410 gear,my only problem is "I should of put a 3500 stall in it". The trans handles it fine. JDM is running 05 Mustangs with 750 HP with auto. Do that with a stock manuel and you will see the clutch rolling down the track.

Just curious, why do you think you need a 3,500 stall?
Isn't 3,000 or generally a lower stall more reliable for street driving?

You're looking at $3-4k with install.

But since the 5R55S is more likely to go before the engine,
I think it's a smart move to start with the transmission.

Of course JDM is an exception, you might want to look into
a supercharger kit from them, or at least have them tune it.
They're running 10's on the stock 5R55S.
they ran into the 9s on the 5R55s

IMHO - if your running the stock short block and not beating the crap out of the car the stock tranny will hold up for a long while. There are a few shops doing upgrades to the 5r55s. The higher HP guys ( north of 550) go to the 4R70W for reliability and strength.

tuned autos with torque converters are faster than most manual drivers with the same mods. Even though im converting my car to a manual i know very well that if i ran into an auto version of mine i would probably lose. im only doing it for the fun factor of daily driving
