Default Stock Muffler?

I bought my 07 Mustang GT several weeks ago and this past weekend decided to crawl underneath and take a look at the mufflers since I was thinking about replacing the "stocks". Well, can someone confirm for me if the stock mufflers say Flowmaster on them? They look stock, and to me, sound stock. I am baffled by this and just wondered if perhaps Ford uses Flowmaster mufflers at the factory.......

If they say "Flowmaster" then they are not stock -

could take a look at your muffler tips as well, and are the mufflers painted black?

The Flowmaster American Thunder series of mufflers are painted black, have rolled 4" (I believe that is the size) tips and say "Flowmaster" on them as well.

the muffler tips are not the 4" variety, they are stock size (2.5"??)

they are stainless steel and to be honest do not look very good. I was convinced there was nothing special to them until I saw the very worn out Flowmaster wording on the bottom of the driver side muffler.

I just find it odd that someone would added these and not something a little more spicy. It sounds good, but not what i would expect from aftermarket mufflers.....

you should check if the are welded or clamped. Alot of people who put flowmasters from an exhaust shop weld instead of clamping

They seem to be clamped on where the mufflers meet the tubing. One thing I do recall was seeing a lot of what looks like welding around the hangers and the muffler itself.....Well it seems that what I have are Flowmasters that need to be replaced with something good

From your description it sounds like someone used a Flowmaster like a "super 40" or something and put the hangers and such on it, then some tips. The American Thunder have the hangers on them and a bigger tip. They also have a deeper rumble from all of them I have heard (and when I had them on my car)
