Smile Ordering a 2011

Who has ordered a 2011 Mustang? How hard or easy was the process?

Just wanting to see how many people here on the forums have actually gone out to order a brand new stang.

Everyone keeps talking about how the dealers won't budge on the price for a while, and they're probably correct. However, I ordered my 2010 GT and the first thing I had to do was put $1000 down for them to place the order. All of a sudden, my leverage was gone. Two months before closing the deal, and I'd already lost all of my leverage since they had my $1k.

Made me think twice about ordering a build in the future. You're better off to find one on the lot you like, imo.

How did you lose your leverage? If anything, you should have had more leverage, considering you could've threatened to take back your deposit and go elsewhere.

No, they most likely would have kept his deposit if he had walked out on the deal. Which is why they had him bend over a barrel.

I don't think there's any way they could've legally kept it. It's not like real estate where you put down a good faith deposit. With cars, until you sign a bill of sale, you can walk away free and clear and there are no injured parties in the transaction.

Oh no I don't plan on ordering one. I'm not financially able to. I just wanted to see how many people on here have done it already.

Ordered mine four weeks ago.
Took about half an hour.
Right off the bat $2000 off MSRP was the starting point.
Ended being $500 over invoice was my cost.
I haggled another $500 off my trade.
Probably cold have even got a little more for my trade but they met my numbers I had set in my mind before going in to talk.

My plan is to try to get a car loan from my credit union, and if I can then get whatver I can with whatever much money I get.

Wow! That is fantastic news! Maybe I won't have to wait for the "gotta have one" price gouging to end, afterall. Wait. Did you get the GT or the V6?
