help me get traction!

help me get traction!
so with the performance mods i have and the 4.10's i have an extreme problem finding traction through first and second gear. what (if anything) is everyone doing to increase traction around here? i have a bunch of rear suspension stuff done (see signiture list) but i still have no traction when trying to take off fast. i am currently running a 255 size rear tire, and am considering going to a 275 size.
i have drag radials but it seems like a waste to run them on the street, but if thats what i have to do i will, because im tired of losing races to cars i know are slower than mine because i cant hook the rear tires up.
any help with this would be great. if by chance you have solved this problem please let me know what you did or how you did it.

Ya, 255's aren't that much different from stock size which is 235. I run Nitto 555, 255's in the front.. 285/40/18 rear.. You'll probably want to try larger rears. And as mentioned above me, you probably don't want to floor it hard either. Suppose these two go hand in hand, one helps the other.

275's aren't going to help you much either. I suggest 285/295 if not wider. I have 3.73's and 275/40/18 Falkens (not the best, but decent rubber). And I'm only dealing with the stock 315 HP.
1st gear is a complete lost cause when I get into it...but luckily 2nd gear seems catch better.

Did have 4:10s with a supercharger on this car. 1st and 2nd were useless. Kept the 4:10s and changed transmissions to a 4r70w. On the street used M&H 325s.....very soft sticky tire....great traction but remember the rule...stickier the tire, the less efficient at evacuating water.
So solutions include but not limited to:
change transmissions (drastic and unnecessary unless car is going to be strip raced a whole lot, with mucho power)
change the gearing
get really sticky tires but then you have to contend with wet roadways
race from a roll
stop street racing (yeah right)
We have just changed the transmission again and also gone to 3:50 gears. You make the changes necessary to achieve your goals, or if unwilling or unable...change the behavior.

well i seem to have no cured but drastically improved the traction problem. i came across a set of 275 rears brand new. just changing from the old hard tires to a set of new soft units made a huge difference (duh). i still have problems in first so some throtle finess is still a must but second gear hooks up a lot better.
i would just go get some m&h's or m/t's but my car is my daily driver so i need something better for wet driving.
