what is this part?
I was putting in my new billet grilles today and when doing so saw a sensor about six inches long simply laying at the bottom of the bumper, not attached to anything. It appears that it should be. It is still wired in. Just don't know what it is and where is should be mounted.
I have a pic but I do not see the manage attachments icon as noted in the faq's page?
Help with either issue?
Thanks,

It's still there. 16-gauge mesh and flows a heck of a lot better than stock which is almost entirely solid plastic and weighs a ton.
It has an explorer v8 emblem stuck to it now, since it just got back from the powdercoater. I blacked out all of the plastic behind it.

It is the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor. It provides data for the in cabin outside temperature display. I'm curious as to whether it provides data to the PCM or other on board processor for any other purpose. I ask that question in another thread and didn't get any worthwhile replies. I suspect it serves that singular purpose.
