Default Front LCAs Install Tips Please

Has anyone done this install? Doesn't look too complicated except for having to load the suspension prior to some of the bolt tightening. Any specific tips would be greatly appreciated!

Do one side at a time. It's easy.

The best tip I can give you is do it on a lift if you have access to one.
Because then, it's a piece of cake.
And yes, torque the bolts under load.

Thanks guys - i don't have access to a lift but I'll manage. If I can do headers on jack stands, this should be easy.

Can I jack under the a arm to create the load on the suspension (or "curb height" as the Ford manual refers to it)?

The way I do these, is I put the car on concrete blocks under all 4 tires...
Make sure the blocks are laid properly with the walls verticals, just like you would use them to build a house.
Still put jack stands under the car for extra safety but don't put them under load.
Crawl underneath and torque the bolts to specs.

If you don't have C.blocks, use something different but as stable and as high so you can to do the job.

Jacking up under the A arm won't give you the real load because the car won't sit like it should and the tire is at the end of the movement, so that's where the load is maxed out.

Wow - thanks Pascal - How would they do that on a lift? Does the dealer (and other shops) lower the car on to something to load it?

A drive-on lift as opposed to on that lifts from the frame.

Can you de-install the A-Arm with the front suspension loaded? I'm guessing yes?
