sooooo, I finally got around to checking the cabin filter and it's so filthy, you could shake a stick at it!! Found hair, some tiny leaves.. and a lot of other unidentifiable objects. Is it alright to just pick up a generic filter at an auto store? I see Nuke goes with the paper towel method..

Don't they have filters on underwear now, so you can't smell your own farts?

Hair?
What have you been doing on your hood to cause hair to be sucked into the cabin air filter?

Yea, we have been there before.
Just get rid of it, it has no purpose except to get clogged and
cause water to come thru the cabin air filter...

The grommet has a purpose or Ford would not have put it there..
Got a clue as to what its main function is?
If you knew, you would not have removed it (by the way, there are TWO rubber drain grommets...

Don't give Ford too much credit.
Sometimes the reason they put a part on, is so stupid, the point is rendered moot!
Like those 2 plugs at the bottom of the door... They just need to be gone.
All they do is keep water from draining out properly.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, becuase I don't know our car's CAF's as much as I do other models/makes, but the filters also filter the air prior to entering the air conditioning and heater units. I've found leaves, nuts, pebbles, dog food, cigarettes, bugs, and even small dead mammals in cabin air filters...none of which I'd prefer in my AC or heater unit.

Finally someone who sees the importance of the filters windows down or up.
It keeps junk that comes in the fresh air intake off your heater core and AC
Evaporator Coils.

I would never run the vehicle without a clean fresh air filter...

Apparently advance auto parts doesn't like to keep our filters in stock

Gonna have to order online.

Wow, advance auto parts sells 1 @ $22 and autozone is 1 @ $9.99, gotta pay shipping for both choices though.
