Default retarded question

ok, before u bash on me note that i have absolutely very minimal mechanical skills. My question is about how some people talk about going from stock to adding a crap load of power, some people chime in and say u might want to build your bottom end so you can handle all of that power....what does that mean exactly? What parts do u swap up or beef up??? once again, sorry im retarded.

They are talking about the rotating assembly of the engine (crank shaft, pistons, and connecting rods). The connecting rods are known for breakng around 500 rwhp.

Mainly it's the connecting rods and pistons. The factory rods are the weak link in 4.6 motors. The pistons are next. The rest of the motor can handle quite abit of power.

The easiest way to do it is with a forged shortblock. You pull your motor. Swap heads, covers, etc. and put the new build back in.
