Default Off road h pipe question?

I am purchasing an off road h pipe this week and I'm trying to decide between the pypes off road h-pipe, the summit racing off road h-pipe (SUM-640726), and the jegs off road h-pipe (JEGS #555-30599 ). I have read that the pypes midpipe leaks badly so I was looking at the summit and jegs ones as alternatives. Pypes products usually have fitment issues as well. Does anyone have experience with either of these? Any input is appreciated

I just installed the Pypes O/R H. Fitment was not very good, and it did leak. I had the pipe welded and now I love it. I considered the Summit and Jegs pipes also. They are all going to have crapy fitment issues. I decided on the Pypes because it is stainless steele vs. aluminum and I wanted to buy from Brenspeed. My exhaust guy told me that pretty much all O/R aftermarket pipes fit like crap. When he welded up the joints he adjusted it to get it perfect. So no matter what brand you get you will have to have it welded, and if you have access to a lift it would be a huge advantage. Hope my 2 cents helped you hout.

I have the pypes o/r h and my fitment was junk, lack of quality completely. Maybe you'll be lucky and get a good one. Oh and yes they often leak where the h connects.

Often?? I honestly dont see how the would ever fit tightly enough not to leak. I had almost 1/4 inch gap. I guess if you slit the pipe so the clamp could actually seal you might be OK.

I have the pypes and I like it. The first time I put it on it was a bit difficult and I took my time and suprisingly didnt have any leaks. The fitment was pretty good with mine but I have heard some horror stories. The manifold bolts are a pain and you will need extensions and a swivel. The passenger side top O2 sensor is pretty difficult to get to. I couldnt fit my hand up there to disconnect it. I took out the battery box which took about 3 mins and that made it very easy. The second time I put it on took me about 25 mins and I had to get it welded the leaks were really bad from the clamps bending the pipe on the first install. I wouldnt run anything less than a Pypes Mid muffler because it is obnoxiously loud. I had a O/R H and slp lm's for 2 days. Then I added some resonators and it sounds great. Hope this helps

i have a summit off road H

lined up fine at the headers, but reconnecting the end to the mid pipes, the H pipe is actually 2 inches too short

you have to use the stock band clamps to seal it up and it leaks
