Default Cams cost breakdown?

I'd like to figure out the total cost to do mild street cams that don't require additional headwork. It seems most mild cams are $700 regardless of brand.

So on top of the cost of the cams themselves ($650-$699) what is the total cost to have these things in my car and running correctly? Estimated cost on a cam install would be good. Also, I already have a tuner so that doesn't need to be accounted for.

Brenspeed does the install for around $400. They will send you a tune for your handheld tuner. So if you don't have that, plan on adding an additional $379 to that.

Regardless, it will end up being around $1250. I believe that's a fair estimate. Obviously can go up to around $1500 given the cams, and other variables.

What are some power-gain estimates on the cam install? Just a rough number? And then also how much for headwork

I'm going to have a shop install ***** Thumpr cams (stock valvetrain w/phase limiters) for $600 plus a dyno tune for $300 in a few weeks. This will also include CMCV delete plates and underdrive pulleys. Another shop quoted me $850 for the cam swap alone! For all the parts (cams, limiters, UDPs, delete plates, blue cam covers ) with install and dyno tune, I'm looking to spend ~$2200. I'm not expecting too much of a gain. I'm hoping to be around 350ish rwhp and rwtq. She will sounds like a beast. I can guarantee that!

A stock GT doesn't put out 320 rwhp, more like 285rwhp. With a CAI/Tune maybe 295-300, so that is more like a 50rwhp gain.

Is 350whp a normal number for cams and bolt ons? I thought it would be around 330whp. It was my hope that cams parts/labor would be at or below $1,500 and add about 25-30whp.

I am getting my Detroit Rockers installed at Brenspeed on May 5th along with Steeda delete plates. Cams, phaser bolts, cam lube, Steeda delete plates, tune and labor, including a free guest house for the night and my total is going to be about $1600.00. My wife and I are just going to make it a little vacation. I am going to have them dyno it before I leave so I know what I got. They are saying 40 horse, but I don't have long tubes which their mule does, but they did not have deletes on their mule....so I don't know what I'm going to get.

It is all estimates because of other supporting mods etc, but it seems from other discussions that 50whp was thrown around a lot.

$2200 seems high, $1600 like from what Brenspeed was offering sounds more like it. Just think, you are getting close to being as fast as my 6er if you get cams
