Default IAT sensor help

i just bought an IAT relocation senor a couple days ago off a MF forum sposor that i will not mention. it came in a box that was like 7" x 7" and the parts were just thrown in there and lose. on there site it shows the motorcraft box for the sensor and a clear plastic bag with directions and other parts. well it didn't come that way. the sensor was the ford motorcraft part and also had the sensor connector there too with some wire connectors and a wire connector cover. the sensor had no motorcraft box and the threads have this red residue on them. is this a used sensor or do they all come this way? please help before i call and b*tch tomorrow for sending me a used part.

do the wires look cut, seems to me like it might have been installed and returned, the red residue is prob lock tite. But they are easy to install, just take the 2 outside wires going to the maf sensor and splice them in.

i have the directions to do the install, i just drilled out my upper whipple manifold today and will tap tomorrow. i just dont want a used IAT sensor and i paid $55 for. Is there something wrong with it, i dont want it to cost me a motor. my concern is the red residue on the threads and it didnt come packaged like it shows on there site.

The red residue is loctite. I've received sensors and fittings that come with it in the past.

mine came in a motorcraft box, but i
also purchased it from some on-line
store like rockauto or newfordparts.

sorry if some vendor tried to slip one past you,
it should be discounted if obviously used.

I ordered mine from VMP and it came packaged with the connector and sensor in one box that was NOT a motorcraft. Brand new though and the red is loctite as mentioned above. Hell, Justin didnt even send directions with it.

if its your first time installing the sensor you will be ok. if you remove the sensor them use some thread sealant.
