Default 3M Clear hood protector

Anyone have any experience with this? I may be about to pull the trigger on a black 06 GT (I'd rather not have black but the deal may be to good to pass up) and I'd like to put this on the hood to protect against rock chips.

I have it on my car and would definitely recommend it.

Where in Georgia are you located? The guy that installed mine is located in Roswell on Hwy 9, just North of Holcomb Bridge Rd.

Can someone post a link to where I can buy it? I have a black GT and already have one small chip.

If doing the clear bra, then my recommendation is to do the entire panel and to apply this to the new vehicle, not to wait.

When I removed one from my MB w/ 110K miles, applied new, under the bra was pristine, aft of the bra had been sandblasted.

Even the 1/8" exposed gap on my headlight edges were sandblasted.

On a low vehicle like the Mustang I would cover the whole hood, the headlights, the mirrors, the fog lights, the whole front fenders, plus any other bits desired.

On expensive cars I've seen all the sheet metal covered.

On mine I did the door cups and behind the rear wheels. On the wife's I also did the door edges and under the gas door.

There are several vendors producing film.

Examine samples to select one w/ the desired sheen.

Where can I just buy the film? I'm wanting to do under the door handles so I don't get anymore scratches.
