oil change

Default oil change

how many quarts of oil do you guys put in on the 4.6 v8's doing oil changes?

max capicity in owners manual says 6 and thats what came with the kit from brenspeed so i just put it all in but now it looks like it may be overfilled????

and it doesn't go to the full line, atleast not on mine. It's about half way

hrmmmm lol dunno oil is so clear its hard to read the dipstick but i think it may be like a 1/2 quart overfilled!!!!!

Errr, did you forget to take off the old oil filter? The filter holds nearly 1/2 quart, so, that'd put you around 1/2 over...

nah, i replaced the filter. i dunno i dont think its a huge deal if it is over its only slightly. not like i massively overfilled it.

You should be good. If you put 6 quarts in it, and drained the old stuff, I don't see how you could have possible screwed up

I end up around 5 - 5.5 quarts on a oil and filter change to end up a touch under the "full" mark on the dipstick.

i agree with the above, you should be fine, i put 6 quarts without overfilling
