An old fart fart-off contest is in-order, so please sign me up!

A great application for a back-up camera is aligning the ball with the coupler when connecting a trailer, not applicable to the Mustang.

Mine doesn't have the spoiler, so no camera, but I may play w/ adding a "hidden" one at a later time, just 'cause I like to "geek out" on that kind of stuff.

Sorry, just an old fart's rant.

No, I just turned 20 and I'm with you. Some of these electronics are cool and helpful but people need to stop relying on them.

UPS trucks have rear view cameras for a reason.
The idea on a Mustang is well beyond my belief.
I guess some buy for the gizzmos and not the raw
performance.

How does she drive despite the sucky rear view camera?
Extrapolate on that one, Einstein...

How does the camera work?
I've seen some that show up only when you are in reverse. I'm guess ing it isn't on all the time while you're driving, is it?
And I thought the monitor is in the rear view mirror, but will it show in the Navigation's screen if you have that option?

for the Mustang it shows on the radio

on certain SUV/Trucks it shows on the rearview mirror...or the radio. depends on which model you get.

as wired from the factory, it only comes on when in reverse. but you can trigger them to come on whenever you want with a switch.

I have a backup camera on my 24' long truck......but not on my Mustang. No problems backing it up after driving a big truck all day.
One day while backing my truck up to a dock, I heard the guys standing out there, "She just backed right up and didn't even hit the dock!" They didn't know I had a backup camera! LOL

As an old fart I'll say I love the rear view camera. With an injured lower back I like it even more. Twisting is hard enough when standing but when sitting in a close-confined car it is almost impossible. I also do not like the std spoiler, but the RVC spoiler is much better looking. I have the Nav system so see a big screen. I can see at anytime unless the camera is covered by dirt/mud. How the RVM screen looks I can't say.

I'm not an old fart yet but I loved the backup camera on my old Acura TL. I could back up into a spot perfectly every time their system had lines to guide you into the spot and a lines so you knew how close you were to stuff behind you. it worked great.

is it necessary? not really unless you can't turn your head. is it cool? yup

Let me clear up some mis-conceptions here. The rear camera screen is in the rear-view mirror. It's about a 2x2" LCD that is projected onto the left side of the mirror. It is only on when the car is in reverse.

If you have the Nav option, the screen is there and is bigger and better.
