Default burning smell

ok so the past 2 nights when i get out from driving my car about 20 miles or so i get the nasty burning smell. when i drive real short distances i dont notice it but to me it smells like a mix between a burning hose and some sweet chemical smell mixed. I've asked about 3 different people and they told me it sounds like I'm burning freon....My A/C works fine, blows cold, doesnt cut out or anything. I notice the smell as I open the door to get out and its right around the driver area. I checked under the hood and didnt really smell it or see any hoses that looked worn out or anything. Any suggestions on what I should do or what it may be.

Sounds (or smells) like a coolant leak. Check all of your hoses for moisture. That sweet smell is almost definitely coolant coming from somewhere.

+1 - It's definitely coolant. Check for leaks with car hot (i.e. cooling system under pressure).

You found three different people who thinks freon burns..
What part of the country are you in?
Even if it did burn, the smell would not be sweet
but it would be the last smell you smelled cus you would be dead.
I concure with the leaking coolant

Could be the neighbor having BBQ.

Something's dripping on the exhaust probably or you picked up some trash on the road that is stuck on the exhaust maybe? Happened to me.
If it smell terrible, it must be a dead cat, lol.

Seriously, check your exhaust...
Hope it ain't the clutch.

Yep, avoid those stray plactic wallymart bags when driving.
The enter from the front and dont exit from the rear for a reason...

i swerve for bag sharks, my coolant cap wasnt holding pressure and it got all over the engine, that was stinky too.
