Default 2010GT rear trunk emblem..how to remove

So I was wondering..how is that large round GT logo on the truck connected..I pulled the carpet and looked to see if any bolts but I just saw stuff for the trunk latch..is there screws under the latch I need to get to or is just on there with double side tape? I blacked out my side GT badges..and I want to paint the rear thing as well black.

with the 'alignment pins'....
The holes they leave are unsightly.
No retainers of any sort on the inside of the trunk...
It a biatch to get the double sided take thats OEM die cut to reattach it.
I think you are bitting off more than you can chew...

whats so hard about putting new tape on it..I didnt have any problems with my GT badges..remove all the old stuff and just cut to fit the tape for the GT..took like 2min..this thing is just one huge round circle..make it even easier to cut to fit the tape

GT badges are F L A T on the backs....
Faux Caps A R E N O T.
Um, you have been warned?
Go ahead and remove it and see how well that works for you.
Its not flat on the backside yet a series of fine narrow support
strctures that the 3M tape needs to adhere to.
If you have 3M tape thats as wide as the faux cap, then you
MIGHT have a shot.
Its like walking a tight rope with 3/4" or even 1" wide 3M tape.
The die cut 3M tape from the factory and the fixture Ford used
to apply it is the only thing that makes it work.
Let us know how it works out for you.
And some pics so I can forward them to the
next yahoo know it all that wants to paint his faux cap
sans vehicle.
Paint it ON THE STANG and be 1000000s of miles ahead and
lots more thicker wallet.
Not be rough but been there, done that....
