Default media blasting?

hey guys,
well this isnt S197 tech, but tech non the less, my parents told me to do something with my 67 or get rid of it. it has surface rust ALL OVER. literally the whole thing. no paint at all, just rust. i was wondering how much media blasting the outside, (interiors fine) would cost me about?

Best way to find out is to call a few places and get some quotes. I hope the rust isn't too severe or else you might have quite a few holes to fill. "That's what she said."

Media blasting isn't strong enough for removing rust unless you have just a film of it on your car, which I doubt.
Sand is the way to go.

Cost is anywhere from $400 to $800 here in FL, depending how long it takes.
One piece of advice though: Epoxy/etch prime the car as soon as it's in bare metal if not, you're back to square one.
Also, expect pinholes in the metal after blasting, as classic cars are always worse with rust than one think.

Seek a pro's opinion before making a move, it could be a real project...

"Media" blasting can be anything from plastic to sand to metal oxides. If you have light surface rust, a plastic media might be best as it will save you a lot of primer /filler sanding later. If rust is more substantial, a more aggressive media might be appropriate up to and including the metal oxides. They cut very fast and will remove everything. They can also cause metal thin-out and dishing if the operator is inexperienced. If you have this done, don't skimp. Pay the extra $50-$100 and get a reputable operator that is associated with a restoration experienced body shop. These guys don't blast pipes and 6" thick ship hulls for a living.
