Default Which axle backs apply?

The Ford GTA's on my 2006 GT have rotted off the hangers after only 20K garaged kept miles. I have had to switch back to the stock mufflers and I can't stand it. I'm an old dude who wants the "sound" but not the drone. Not looking for the car alarming setting off pounders, just looking for that V8 thumping. I was happy with the GTA sound quality, so I'm looking for a muffler that is in that range. I've checked the retailers and have come to the conclusion that Magnaflow is the sound and price level I'm looking for. I've never used any of their products. Any info on those or any other systems would be terrific. Thanks guys and gals.

WOW, stainless steel mufflers rotting out at only 20K miles?
I can see this happening in Canada but where is the OP located.
Is this what I have to look forward to with my OEM stainless steel exhaust?

Corsa FTW.

I guess I'm the only lucky guy with GTAs. No issues with mine yet.
I have fixed a few for customers that never had that problem since...

The welds aren't very strong so once they're re-done properly, it will last.

OP, see if yours are savable because it will be the cheapest route to your problem.
Find a good welder, that's all.

stainless right? did you call up Ford Racing and demand repair?

x2 on getting them rewelded. maybe $100 to get the welds corrected at an Exhaust shop and you'll be good to go

Boomtubes for the classic muscle car sound FTW!

Or the Pype Bomb from Pypes. Same thing.

I had years ago Bassani Race mufflers and they droned like hell. It was a loud very intense deep MMMMM sound that screwed with my head.

The boomtubes while kinda loud (but not too much at all!) don't have that same drone the Bassani had. It's more of a deep rumble instead. I don't see how anyone could not like the sound from the boomtubes (or pype bomb) because I know what real drone is like and boomtubes are nothing like that. They are definitely not silent like the stockers though!

Ditto on the welds being crap! have the same problem with mine..as well as a bit of corrosion on the bottom sides of the mufflers themselves. OP, why not just get another set of GTAs if you like them so much? the price difference isnt that much and the maggies wont sound as good .
