Default intake/tuner question

well today i installed my steeda cai/sct sf3 combo i purchased from american muscle on my 2010 mustang gt. when i plugged in the tuner, i noticed there were 3 preloaded tunes, named "2010gt_93s", "2010gt_93p", and "2010gt_93r". now from my understanding these come preloaded on the tuner and are not considered custom tunes, meaning they're meant for a bone stock car. shouldnt i be seeing an additional tune specifically for the intake? or are the 3 preloaded tunes in spec with the intake? also i flashed the "2010gt_93p", should i just go ahead and flash the race tune? or is it not a big difference from the performance one? thanks.

those are for the intake
I believe the last letters mean "street", (not sure of the p) and the other "race"

Not definite on this because I have never had a AM tune.
they all say 93 and I'm guessing that is the octane rating.
I heard AM had three different tunes though that vary the way the power is distributed and you choose which one fits your taste.

Someone else will have to chime in on this.

IIRC, go to program vehicle and there should be a section for preloaded tunes and custom tunes, they can each hold 3 tunes in each section. the custom tunes are for your specific mods.

but like Blacksmoke said, i think those are your custom tunes for the CAI.

s-street, p-performance, r-race......those should be the custom tunes you requested when you ordered the tuner.

When I did mine, there was 3 to choose from. Stock, Strategy and Custom if I remember correctly. Custom was the one to upload.

And 93 is the octane

Yes, they are the custom tunes that AM created for your vehicle with the CAI. Check out the section about midway down the page..... http://www.americanmuscle.com/2005gt...xcal2-kit.html

great, thanks. is it worth running the race tune during daily driving or is it not that drastic of a difference from the performance tune?

If you bought the CAI and tuner as a combo package, AM should have written the tunes for your car and the CAI. I can only assume that you specified 93 octane tunes since all 3 tunes are apparently for 93 octane, each with it's own characteristics. Most people order tunes for the 3 octanes of fuel available in most areas. I know I was glad on 2 occassions to have an 87 custom tune due to being on road trips and not being able to get anything other than 87 octane.
