Cool Lowered

So I finally got the "lowering kit" on. I went with the GT500 Lowering Kit from GLP (Green Leaf Prime). If anyone has been over to AllFordMustangs.com than you may have seen the thread about using the GT500 shocks/struts coupled with a set of linear springs such as the Steeda Ultralites or Sports and how well of a kit it makes. If not, the link is here:http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...nclusions.html. We have horrible roads here in LA and since I have to travel in to downtown Baton Rouge every morning, the roads can just get straight retarded.

GLP no longer sells these parts seperate but instead sells an entire kit, minus the springs and strut mount you'll need. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-11...Q5fAccessories. In total it cost me $465 including hardware and camber bolts. I still haven't gotten the thing aligned but that will probably come next week after recoup some of the money from selling the stock wheels. I still would like to get a sway bar and reduce some of the body roll it still has.

(From my AFM.com post)
The Setup:
I went with GT500 shocks from GLP, Steeda Ultralites and the GT500 strut mounts. The handling is better but I would like to decrease the body roll a little more. Missed the chance to get the GT500 sway bar separately and GLP won't sell the sway bar separately anymore, I've asked. The nose dive has been decreased a good amount as well, which is really nice.

Conclusion:
The ride quality is great. It’s obviously a little bit stiffer but it really feels comfortable. It's just a bit stiffer than stock and anyone who lives in the Denham/BR area knows about the bad road conditions and pot holes we have and you just can't afford to have a bad riding vehicle. I also really enjoy how at higher speeds the car feels more stable now. I sometimes don't realize how fast I'm going till I look at the speedo.

Overall I'm very happy with the kit and feel that I most definitely got my money's worth. Over the past 2ish weeks of having the kit installed it has soften up a bit and is really comfortable. Since putting this lowering kit on, I noticed I've gotten some of the "butt-HP" that I felt was lost when I put the heavier GT500 wheels/tires on. GLP is great and so are their products they sell. I got GT500 takeoff wheels from them at the same time. One came scratched and he has sent me another complete wheel and tire and I don't even have to return the other one! Great customer service!

Hard to tell exactly what the lowering did. The after pictures have the wheel wells in the shade.

I'm interested in this. I've got some Steeda comps waiting to go on....as soon as my Koni SRT's arrive.

You're right, they are. It was really bright that day. I updated the original post with 2 more pictures that may show it a little better.

Looks good. Lowering is one of the best appearance mods you can do. I do it to all of my rides.

+1, but it looks great otherwise. So about how much of a drop did you get? Did you measure?

After a few days and settling down, the car dropped a full inch in the rear and close to an inch in the front; I'd say about 7/8" in the front.
