Default 2011 Roush

The Indianapolis Mustang Club that I belong to is having a show/swap meet this weekend at O'Reilly Raceway Park and several of the local dealers are providing new cars for display. Yesterday several of us decended on one such dealer to pick up 10 cars and I got to drive a 2011 Roush Stage 2.
While I was impressed with the car and it performed very well, I think I will hang on to my 2006 GT. The only factory option on the car was 3:73 gears and the car listed for $47,000 after the Roush mods. Don't get me wrong the car was a blast to drive and love the new interior but just can't see the price.
I thing I would rather have a loaded GT or California Special for 8k less, but for now am still very happy with my '06 GT.

Yeah, I hear that. Shelby's do it for some (me included), Roush's for another(not a fan), but I love me some GT/CS's (2010+ especially). I think they're a great bargain. Sweet rims, custom interior, sweet badging and such. I dig it.

$47k is a little steep for a Roush. They are nice cars, but not $47K nice. Pics?

Yeah they aren't cheap. Teh 11's aren't even superchargerd, you only get teh looks stuff and the suspension. You can add that to any GT for maybe $4k.

Yes they are more expensive than they were before the body style changed. But that is not because of Roush. His pricing for each package or stage has remained pretty much the same. Ford has caused the increase in pricing due to how they package the options. Roush must now buy a Premium GT to get the items his customers want. When I bought my 2007 427R Roush was buying Deluxe GTs. The difference is near 10K. Got mine at a good time.

Unless you are a Roush fan like me, the Shelbys are looking better. Same HP as the top of the line Roush. Although it remains to be seen what Roush is going to do with the 2011 SC models as far as HP.

yep, they don't have teh 427r yet, who knows when they will. The 427r generally costs in the mid 50k range.

Can't wait to see the '11 Stage 3. At a track rental, a brand new '10 Stage 3 was brought and it ran an 11.8 100% STOCK......still had the window sticker!

They have 540hp I think and forged internals.....nice!

The salesman at the dealership told me that there would not be a Stage 3 for the whole 2011 model year. He said the motor would have to be completely rebuilt with forged internals to stand up to FI. I'm not sure if he knew what he was talking about or not. BTW it was my first experience with satellite radio and loved it. Wish they would have offered it for the 2006's and may have to check into what kinds of add ons are available.
