Default Drag strip-traction control on or off ?

Going to the strip with 05 gt with Saleen supercharger. Do you turn off traction control or leave on? I only have street radials with 275/50/r17s
Thanks for any advice.

My opinion: always off unless it's raining or snowing.

But, then you wouldn't be drag racing would you? ;-)

This is the answer you get when the forum won't let me just say "off" and insists I type at least 5 characters.

Off.. (see? 5 characters!)

kidding aside, though, you'll never get good times using the TC. Sure, it'll keep you from spinning the rears, but it'll also cut power for a good second afterward, and in a drag race, a second is an eternity, especially in the critical first 60'.

Learn how to launch. It ain't easy, but it'll do you a lot of good in the long run.

I have my TC disabled in my tune, it is always OFF. People have been driving cars for almost 100 years without TC. Your car won't even do a burn out with the TC engaged.

you could end up breaking something with TC on. TC off is the way to go!

I always drive on the street with my TC off, no reason I would turn it on at the strip either. Plus in order to do a proper burnout, you have to turn it off in the first place.

Not to hijack the thread, but I always drive with TC off, even in the rain. I've actually noticed that in the rain I rarely spin my tires coming off of red lights compared to when the TC is on. Weird.

The only traction control you will ever need is located in your right foot.
