Default tire suggestions?

I've got an '08 gt with 24,000 miles. It came with bfg gforce t/a 235-50-18. I always kept them at the recommended 32 psi. Much to my surprise, I recently noticed that the center grooves on the rear tires are basically gone. I realize that means pressures were too high, but still wouldn't expect them to be wore out so soon. I don't want to lose performance, but I need tires that are going to last a little bit longer. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

sounds like something else. 32 psi isnt much really. i run BFG KDW2s and love them. lasted me 2+ years now but not too many miles, maybe 15-20k. Still lots of tread left. Just watch the tread wear better on this set, whatever you choose

Ease up on the wheelspin and almost-wheelspin. If you don't ever carry much stuff in the trunk or have rear seat passengers on board, you might benefit a little by running the rears a psi or two lower.

Each tire is different. Experiment. I've had a few tires that I ran as high as 35 PSI but I typically like to run most of them from 31 to 33 PSI.

Thanks for the help, guys. What kind of miles are most people getting out of these tires?

I sold my OE BFG's with 12,000 miles on them to a forum member when i bought wider wheels and tires. But they were almost like new at the time.

Alot of people are running Nitto's I have the 555's love them nice and sticky. My car came with Pirelli P nero Zero. just replaced them with 33K on the car. The Nitto's have a better ride than the Pirelli's. Just my opinion.

With 17,000 miles on the OE BFG KDWS tires, they're barely 1/3 used up. Less than 1/32" variation across any tread (as measured only a few hundred miles ago). I can't seem to kill these things. It's not that they're all that bad, just that I know there's better available for the way I drive.

FWIW, about 35 psi front, 31 psi rear, no wheelspinning or hard launching but lots of fairly hard cornering.
