Default 2011 California Special-- ordered

Anybody had trouble getting their 2011 Mustang? I've had one ordered since 4/2 and the order hasn't even been picked up yet. Looks like the rebate I have will probably run out long before the car comes in!

Thanks

I would camp out at the dealers door until they could give me a VIN at least. That is a very long wait. I wonder if they even submitted it.

uh, yeah... thats not right. I originally ordered 3/27 and then changed my options and reordered on 4/23... it was built on June 3rd and is at the second ramp wait from a train car. Its not a CS but I dont think that would matter in this comparison....

Better go up to the dealer; I've had to show up at mine's door step a couple of times to get info.

I have been to the dealer several times (and talked to the GM) -- relatively small dealership that doesn't sell a lot of Mustangs which may be part of the problem. I was traveling last week and saw a car very similar to what I ordered -- about 8 hours away, but I may call them. I doubt if I can get the deal I have locally.

Thanks for the responses!

+1, only way you can really be satisfied with dealership related stuff these days...

Each dealership gets an allotment of hot selling cars and if they run out of allotment then they get pushed to the bottom of the list.

Had the same problem with mine in 2005. I finally went to another dealership and they had one on order for the dealership, they did a change order and I got the car I wanted in like 3 weeks.

Call Ford Motor Company World HQ and ask for Dealer Relations - Customer Complaints. Dealerships are measured and rewarded or penalized for playing games and on customer complaints.

I found out the one I had originally ordered was changed and given to someone else and they re-ordered mine. So I dumped that dealership after buy 5 vehicles from them. I will never walk in their doors again!!!

Ive heard of alot of people waiting long periods for the 11's. Mine took 7 weeks from order to pick up, have they really ordered the car?, did u get a printout if your order. I bought from a smaller dealer, something is wrong at the dealers end....

Good news! I checked with my dealer and he bought the exact car I ordered from another dealer. I took it for a test ride today and will pick it up next week. Great car! Now when (and if) I get over losing my 2005 GT in trade.....all will be good!

Thanks for the replies!
