Default kicker 8'' door woofers

has anyone installed these in place of the OEM's? if so how do they compare to stock and are they worth the upgrade

I installed these in my '06 GT 'vert with Shaker 500 system. Improvment? Yes. Huge improvment? Probably not.

They sound good with an aftermarket stereo it is worth it for their 160 price tag, fixing to hook up a Alpine amp to them see if that gives me better low end.

I'd rather put the money on some actual subs in the trunk or at least some mounted subs on the rear deck, unless you really want that mid-bass kick in your door panels.
I have the shaker 1000 door subs and they kick just fine to me.

I just don't want to stick a heavy box in the back, and really all I want is some clear music with decent bass, my car came with the 500, so I don't have to worry about removing that heavy sub and amp from the trunk.

I had a bazooka amplifed sub before and they sounded pretty good for smaller sized subs.. self amplified too. I bet there are better ones other now adays. small and lighter than the standard dual 15 inch sub boxes lulz

I would say if you don't mind spending the money for a nice little "tweak" that will improve the sound, but not expecting a huge difference, Yes - I'd get them. They're a fairly simple install. They do stick out a bit further from the door so you have to be careful not to kick them getting in and out, but it's not a big thing. They look good, like they belong there.

I would like to see the new grill and speaker installed in the door. Anyone have a pic?
