Just switching from manual to auto would be a PITA and almost a waste of money unless you got it flowing out your pockets which I can tell you don't. Just a good supercharger/turbo kit is 2-3k + tune and if you do the install yourself that would save labor money. With the engine are you talking about going from V6 to V8 ? if so that would be a bigger PITA ... looking at a whole new car by the time you are done swapping. Just beef up the internals of the V6 add whatever power adder you are looking into and keep the auto. Oh yea just a little grammar next time thanks!

I don't know a hell of a lot about the V6s but it should be able to hold the turbo/supercharger fairly well

the reason for wantin a tranny swap more than anything is cause i like to drive a stick. its fun and it keeps my adhd better in check because i focus on more haha and its fun

I want to do the same thing since the auto takes some fun out of the car but it is NOT a cost-effective mod. The ~$2k or so it would cost to do a swap could be put to better use, such as towards gears, suspension, F/I etc. A lot of people will also say it's a lot easier and cheaper to just trade in for a manual but I completely know where you're coming from. The stock auto tranny in these cars are dogs. That being said, a tune (along with a CAI) from AM or Brenspeed will make the tranny perform a lot better. Shifts are harder and quicker, shift points are improved. It's also debateable that a well tuned auto is faster in a straight line. I believe that definitely holds some truth but I'm not gonna get into that argument

You'd be better off just saving the money you plan on using for the swap and putting it down on a used s197 GT w/a 5 speed.

It'll save you a ton of work and money, in the long run you'll make power easier and be happier

Check out the TCI Ratchet Shifter. It's the best of both worlds.
