i have a base 10 and i put the light up cupholders out of a premium in mine. it was really easy and the mycolor/mygauge thing isnt hard to deal with its just that there are four wires one is ground, one is makes it light up red, one makes it light up green and the other makes it light up blue. if you wire up two colors together u get whatever color those make but i have mine just wired to light up red.

lol i've done that before.............maybe not from MD to WV. but i covered some distance. Passed a state trooper and he looked at me, got in his car, got back out, looked at me again and shook his head...........would have hated to tell him he couldnt do anything about it.

Hey alec could you post the link to the console? I was wanting to do that mod as well, since I already have the footwell lighting.

Btw, the footwell lighting is the easiest IMO of all. And at less than $30 bucks for all the stuff you need, it's not expensive either.

Get the kit off amazon, me and several others have been using it for almost 6 or more months and 0 problems. link: http://www.amazon.com/Multi-Color-Co...9677397&sr=8-1

07blackGT did an awesome write up on it too here: https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...ighting-2.html

Skimmed through the post, so I hope this wasn't already mentioned. Easiest way to tell if you have the ambient lighting capability: take off the center console. In the middle of the area under the console there should be a wire harness that isn't connected to anything, I believe that is the Ambient Lighting harness. Also, (in my '09 at least and I assume it's the same for all S197s) on the radio part on top you have two sets of three buttons. Right hand side is TCS, Airbag light, and flashers. Left hand side is either buttons for Mycolor and ambient or just a cover with nothing. Remove the cover and see if there is an empty harness attached to that. If so, you have the wiring for colors.

Even if you do have the wiring, you'd still need the lights, and maybe other things? Someone chime in, but I assume the lights are controlled by a computer that may or may no be there, even with wiring presence?
