Good luck with the transplant. Question for you though: Since you're buying a used engine out of another California car, what kind of paperwork do you have to fill out with the state since the VIN stampings don't match anymore? I thought there was something you had to do with the DMV when doing a swap on a new car.

Try not to give nitrous more bad publicity this time around lol. Don't understand people jumping on it like that. Hell try doing the same with a charger, up the boost 50% or so over what what most consider "safe" (op was running 130 shot on 6 banger), and the wrong tune (op realized he had wrong tune in when the 6 blew) and let me know what happens oh and no window switch at the time.

Anyway good luck with the new motor.

for emissions purposes, you can usually do a swap IF that model of car had the optional motor available with emissions equipment that met or exceeded the emissions of the original motor. and the new motor must be from a same yr model, or newer.

so if you have a 2005 car, you can swap any 2005-2010 4.6 3v motor into a V-6 car. You must also add all of the GT emissions equipment. This also applies to doing a 5.4 4v swap. But not a 5.4 3v swap.

strange. Hopefully Cali is the same. But Cali has some real **** retentive emissions
